For purposes of design, the actual weights of materials shall be used when calculating dead loads. Common examples of dead loads are framing materials, sheathing, floor finishes, ceilings, etc.

Below is a table that lists the weight, in pounds per linear foot (PLF), of Trus Joist by Weyerhaeuser Engineered Lumber Products. When using ForteWEB® software to size a beam, the results will automatically include member’s self-weight in the design/report.
