Yes, a single ply of Microllam® LVL or TimberStrand® LSL can be used as a ridge board. The IRC states that a ridge board shall be at least 1 inch nominal thickness and not less in depth than the cut end of the rafter (R802.3). Because a ridge board is a non-structural member, Microllam® LVL or TimberStrand® LSL does not need to be sized as a beam provided the other code requirements are met.
