Bonus Rooms

A bonus room is a room typically situated over a garage or other area to create a usable space within the roof structure. The space can be created using “attic trusses” or by framing TJI® ceiling joists and conventional rafters with knee walls. Below are links to technical bulletins that provide TJI® ceiling joist span tables when used in bonus room applications. Select the link that corresponds to the appropriate roof load for your area.
