Weyerhaeuser Specification Team’s Scope of Work

Weyerhaeuser manufactures engineered wood products which have established structural capacities and design provisions as listed in the following code evaluation reports:

Weyerhaeuser provides specification, literature and software tools based on the above listed code evaluation reports.  This is similar to dimension lumber products which have published allowable span tables in the building codes.

Weyerhaeuser is not an engineering company.  Weyerhaeuser’s specification team uses Javelin^® and/or ForteWEB™ software to create product placement plans specifying Trus Joist^® engineered wood products.  The product placement plans are prepared based on project information provided to Weyerhaeuser and are supplied as a supplement to the work of the project designer.  Trus Joist products shown on placement plans are verified to support the vertical gravity loads as indicated on output from the software listed above.  Weyerhaeuser recommends the project designer validate our placement plans for conformance with the overall building design.

This service does not circumvent the need for a design professional as required by the local authority having jurisdiction or building codes.  Weyerhaeuser is not acting as the engineer / designer of record for the project.
