What If the Flange of a TJI® Joist Is Loose from the Web?

Failure of the web to flange joint could be the result of mishandling during shipment, damage on the jobsite or mismanufacturing. Weyerhaeuser Technical Support should always be contacted to evaluate this condition and determine an appropriate remedy.  Due to the difficulty of inspecting glue lines and the possibility of internal damage, members should generally be replaced.  In order to evaluate the condition, we will need the series, depth, span and loading on the joists as well as a detailed description and photos of the damage. If multiple joists are damaged, a site visit by a Weyerhaeuser representative may be necessary.
